Recently, North American timber giant Canfor announced the modernization of its sawmill and planer facilities in Arkansas, with a total investment estimated at $130 million. The project is expected to be completed in early 2023. When completed, Canfor’s annual timber production will increase by 115 million board feet. Don Kayne, president and CEO of Canfor, said the move would significantly improve the company’s ability to produce sustainable wood products to meet the growing needs of its customers.
